Modern digital imaging — up to 80% less radiation than traditional film — with immediate, high-resolution results we can review with you chairside.
Digital X-rays are faster, sharper, and significantly lower-dose than traditional film. Images appear immediately on a screen beside you, so we can walk through what we’re seeing together.
We only take images we actually need, on a schedule appropriate to your risk factors. For most healthy adults that means bite-wings every 12–24 months and a full set every 3–5 years. Children, patients with active disease, or those in a restorative plan may need more frequent imaging.
X-rays let us see what we can’t see with a mirror — decay between teeth, bone level, cysts, root shape, and the health of existing restorations. Skipping them means flying partially blind.
Our sensors are calibrated to the lowest practical dose. We also weigh each X-ray against whether it will actually change the treatment plan — if it won’t, we don’t take it.
Gentle, honest dentistry in the heart of Oak Bay. We’ll take it from here.
