Dentist · Co-owner · International Speaker & Author
Dr. Jessica has been immersed in dentistry since she was 13 — beginning as a sterilisation technician and later working as a receptionist, office manager, and dental assistant. She graduated from Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2015, alongside Dr. Keely.
Following dental school, she completed a one-year hospital residency at Mount Sinai in Toronto, specialising in the care of medically compromised, geriatric, and special-needs patients. Her passion for complex, high-impact dentistry deepened during five years at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, where she served as a full-time staff dentist, education director, clinical researcher, and special projects manager.
Dr. Jessica has contributed to organised dentistry through the Ontario Dental Association’s Education Advisory Committee, the Canadian Dental Association’s Life-Long Learning Task Force, and the University of Toronto Faculty Council. She has also taught as a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto, and continues to mentor future and current dentists through teaching, writing, and educational resources on leading dental teams in the 21st century.
Her expertise has been published in scientific journals, BC Business magazine, and local Victoria publications — and she shares insights through guest podcast appearances and her own podcast on leadership, communication, and workplace culture.
What began as lecturing on improving patients’ quality of life after cancer therapy has expanded into helping organisations improve performance, communication, and team dynamics. To date she has delivered over 50 presentations on culture, communication, and confidence.
Jessica is an international speaker and the best-selling author of Speak Kindly, You’re Listening — published November 2022, with the audiobook released June 2024. The book explores overcoming impostor syndrome, perfectionism, and burnout.
In 2023, she was recognised as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 for her contributions to leadership and team development both within and outside of dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Jessica enjoys hiking, swimming, and spending time with Artemis (the office’s most tenured non-clinical team member), her family, and friends.
Gentle, honest dentistry in the heart of Oak Bay. We’ll take it from here.
